- ➤ Local musician Tyler Childers donated $500K to Blackfeet nonprofits after his benefit show last summer while a mid-air collision at a skydiving event in Marion on August 12 left one person dead—unexpected summer rains have kept Flathead Lake near full pool through the end of summer. Winslow, 40, fled Kalispell police in a November 12, 2023 chase after allegedly threatening his family and law enforcement, pleaded guilty in late 2024 and received a suspended five-year sentence with 143 days served credit on January 30—with his deal approved by prosecutors. - ➤ Nearly 1,000 youth in 4H and FFA are involved in market livestock projects that teach agricultural skills, with about 300 focusing on raising hogs, steers and lambs. The Market Livestock Sale will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 8 a.m. at the Trade Center at the Flathead County Fairgrounds—youth will auction their animals as the final step in their projects. - ➤ Kalispell City Council unanimously selected Jarod Nygren as interim city manager today — he will hold full authority while the city searches for a permanent manager over the next four to six months.
