Good morning, Kalispell. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 12th of November.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Glacier Park International Airport director Rob Ratkowski said that even though the government shutdown led to a reduction in flights nationwide, Kalispell’s airport services were minimally impacted since restrictions began Friday—only Delta cancelled a flight for a few days. He explained that longstanding contracts kept air traffic controllers and TSA staff on payroll, helping the airport remain stable despite the national trends.  Flathead Beacon
  • Rep. Ryan Zinke and Rep. Harriet Hageman have sponsored a bill that would require beef to have a country of origin label so that meat marked as American is raised and processed in the U.S. Montana Farmers Union President Walter Schweitzer praised the move but warned it may raise prices — the law would restore labeling removed in 2015.  Flathead Beacon
