COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Crews placed several-ton boulders from LHC's gravel pit at the future site of Ashley Creek Park near U.S. highways 2 and 93 on October 20. The Bibler family funds the project — next crews will plant vegetation and pave the walkways along the planned paths.  KPAX

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Deer Park School booster club is fundraising for a new playground to replace its old, unsafe equipment that has injured students and limits play for older children. Booster president Samantha Olson said the club has raised about $20,000 so far—though it still needs roughly $80,000 to install modern, accessible equipment.  Flathead Beacon

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Montana Land Board approved phase two of the Montana Great Outdoors Conservation Easement in a 4-to-1 vote—protecting 53,000 acres between Kalispell and Libby. This phase adds to last year's nearly 33,000-acre protection and ensures the land will stay open for public use and wildlife.  KPAX
