Good morning, Kalispell.

Tonya Horn, executive director at Flathead Warming Center, began sitting on a bench at 1 p.m. Thursday for a 24-hour session—Conversations on a Bench—focused on discussing homelessness, addiction and mental health.

She will continue the event today to engage local officials and residents while launching the center’s new winter season.

The Flathead National Forest is planning prescribed fire operations starting this week pending required approvals - the burns in the Spotted Bear, Swan Lake and Tally Lake districts will reduce hazardous fuels through November as weather allows and residents are advised to follow posted warning signs when smoke appears.
