GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Road construction crews will start drilling and rock blasting along Highway 93 west of Whitefish between mile markers 130 and 131 and on Antler Ridge Road, causing temporary road closures of up to one hour starting Friday, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m.—the blasts occur once per day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. as part of a multi-year highway reconstruction to improve safety and efficiency. - ➤ Local nonprofit Valley Neighbors filed a lawsuit in Lewis and Clark County District Court on Tuesday asking the state to permanently stop House Bill 278, a law that allows officers to check immigration status during traffic stops & has led to increased stops and claims of racial profiling in Flathead County. The suit challenges the law for undermining the constitutional rights of local residents while defending public safety. Flathead Beacon
