ALERT, the air ambulance program that first flew in 1975, is marking its 50th anniversary this week as it transports emergency patients including newborns from rural areas.
The service now uses two helicopters and a fixed-wing airplane with a dedicated team for pediatric care—helping children get the specific support they need.
