COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Kalispell’s A Ray of Hope partnered with Spectrum to expand services for the homeless by securing a $50,000 donation and facility support—this new program will now offer food, clothing, and job training to help residents get back on their feet.  KPAX

CULTURE NEWS

  • Kathleen Littfin, an award-winning quilter known for crafting intricate designs, will be featured at the Flathead Quilters’ Guild show Sept. 19 and 20 in the Expo Building on N. Meridian Road—over 120 quilts by local makers will be displayed with live demonstrations and vendors supporting local causes. A special presentation at 1 p.m. Saturday will highlight quilting and fentanyl awareness along with local resource support.  Daily Inter Lake

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kalispell Public Schools teachers met at Bias Brewing on the night before the new school year to voice concerns over high supply costs, large class sizes, and a shortage of paraeducators—issues that hinder individual student support. The Montana Federation of Public Employees held the town hall to gather feedback ahead of school funding commission meetings today and tomorrow at 8 a.m. and a road show on Sept. 17 at Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts & Technology building.  Flathead Beacon

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kalispell City Council is expected to hire a contractor to begin replacing lead service lines citywide with work that involves excavation and surface restoration on public and private property. The Council will meet today at 7 p.m. at City Hall (201 First Ave. E) to review a proposal estimated at $658,000.  Daily Inter Lake

HEALTH NEWS

  • Logan Health held its third annual NICU Reunion at the Sunshine Factory on Saturday — over 200 former NICU babies, families, and medical professionals gathered to celebrate their enduring bonds formed during newborn care. The event honored the life-saving support provided by the hospital’s specialized team.  KPAX

  • Local agents detailed four properties for sale ranging from about $839,000 to $849,900—each offering modern kitchens, spacious layouts, and distinctive outdoor features.
