Mountain Brook Homestead Foundation hosts its fall pie social ‘Oh My Pie!’ on Saturday, Sept.
12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mountain Brook Community Center (2353 Foothill Road) with homemade pies, ice cream, live music, and previews of redevelopment plans from a preliminary report.
🌲 Environment
Glacier National Park saw 896,386 visitors in July, a 17% rise from last year despite gas above $4 per gallon; it was the first summer without a timed entry system (shuttle service and construction previously limited access), making it the third highest summer in recent years.
Flathead County has consolidated PM10 air quality monitoring from three sites to one at Columbia Falls after the DEQ decommissioned the Kalispell and Whitefish sensors earlier this year (officials confirm there is no increased risk to the community).
Glacier National Park ran a three-hour parking limit at Logan Pass from July 1 until Labor Day, speeding turnover and increasing trail access with ticketed shuttles for crowds; now parking is first-come, first-served and the Visitor Center will have shorter hours until Sep.
27 with water off for winter prep.
