- ➤ Sister Judy Lund was honored at a surprise assembly at St. Matthew’s School on Sept. 5 as the school celebrated her 90th birthday and her 70th and final year teaching—33 of which were spent here. She will retire at the end of the school year and plans to return to Wisconsin to join a retirement center for Dominican nuns. Flathead Beacon

- ➤ Kalispell City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. to discuss rescinding a city code that requires city managers to live in town as they search for Doug Russell’s successor—interim city manager Jarod Nygren now holds the role while councilors also review the salary range, the nonprofit’s request for the Central School building, and switching ambulance billing to a third party. This meeting comes as the council evaluates several issues to improve city operations. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Montana began its mobile ID rollout on Aug. 19 so residents can add a digital driver’s license to their phones for secure verification—users can show proof of age and identity while protecting personal data. Representative Braxton Mitchell, who sponsored the 2023 bill, said the encrypted IDs are harder to fake than plastic versions. Daily Inter Lake
