- ➤ Kalispell City Council will vote today at 7 p.m. at City Hall on the Reserve at Johnson Ranch—a nearly 92-acre high-density subdivision with almost 500 dwelling units planned in North Kalispell. The council will also review a neonatal restraint grant, bond proposals for wastewater and sewer improvements, and an extension request for the Meadows Edge subdivision’s preliminary plat. - ➤ Staff at Lakeside County Water and Sewer District noticed wastewater pond issues since 2020 and now propose a $30 monthly fee increase that would raise the typical bill from $43 to $73. Community members expressed concerns at the July meeting, and the board tabled its decision until the next meeting on Aug. 19—while a public info meeting is set for Aug. 7 to discuss alternatives. - ➤ Whitefish City Council will meet today at 7:10 p.m. at City Hall to consider a fourth request affecting the Whitefish Yards development at 95 Karrow Avenue on the Whitefish River. The developer seeks to convert the project into a more residential use with up to 150 units (10 percent for affordable housing), increase building heights to 42 feet, and allow a larger lot footprint while also planning commercial uses such as a 70-room hotel, and the Council will review a request to change affordable unit management and update capital projects exceeding $57 million.
