- ➤ Cyrus Western, EPA’s new regional administrator for Region 8, toured the contaminated Columbia Falls Aluminum Company site near Teakettle Mountain on July 17 and said cleanup plans will follow Superfund law even as the agency plans cuts — he added that local development may soon bring new housing and jobs to the area. A public hearing is set for 7 p.m. today at City Hall and Council will vote on the project on Aug. 4 as developers seek annexation, zoning amendments and other approvals for the nearly 92 acre site at Stillwater Road and Old Reserve Drive.
