On Monday, crews fought the Banana Lake Fire in Plains as it burned 850 acres with no containment while officials lowered speed limits on Highway 28 to protect emergency response efforts—helicopters dropped water on the fire's edge amid consistent winds.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
