Bigfork’s annual Whitewater Festival marks its 50th year this Memorial Day Weekend as river lovers gather to race kayaks on the Wild Mile of the Swan River.

🎓 Education
On May 16, the Glacier Institute celebrated finishing $1.5-million renovations on its Big Creek Campus along the North Fork of the Flathead River—repairs made with funds from over 300 donors and updates that improved the mess hall, septic system, and bunkhouses.
The upgrades set the stage for safer and more engaging field trips and summer classes that build on the site's long history as an outdoor classroom.

Three candidates are seeking to become Kalispell's next mayor after longtime mayor Mark Johnson said he would not run again.
Councilors Sid Daoud and Ryan Hunter + Kalispell Business Improvement District Chair Kisa Davison have filed or announced their candidacy with applications due by 5 p.m. June 11 and the election set for Nov. 4.
