- ➤ Kermit (Ty) Poulson, a 46-year-old homeless man with Kalispell ties, pleaded guilty to threatening the Flathead County courthouse with Molotov cocktails in 2023 and now faces a sentencing hearing scheduled for Sept. 18. Flathead Beacon
- ➤ A homeless man with ties to Kalispell, Kermit 'Ty' Poulson, admitted on Tuesday to threatening to blow up the Flathead County courthouse, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said, and he now faces charges carrying a maximum of ten years in prison + a $250,000 fine and up to three years of supervised release. - ➤ Code Girls United announced the winners of its annual Northwest Regional App Challenge with teams from Billings, Great Falls, and Kalispell placing first, second, and third as 75 teams (grades 4 to 8) competed in a virtual contest to design apps that address community issues. - ➤ Crews clearing the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park report fewer avalanches this spring after an early March avalanche cycle cleared chutes that usually cause more slides—allowing them to focus on breaking up fallen rocks and preparing the east side for further plowing.
