A homeless man with ties to Kalispell, Kermit 'Ty' Poulson, admitted on Tuesday to threatening to blow up the Flathead County courthouse, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said, and he now faces charges carrying a maximum of ten years in prison + a $250,000 fine and up to three years of supervised release.

Crews clearing the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park report fewer avalanches this spring after an early March avalanche cycle cleared chutes that usually cause more slides—allowing them to focus on breaking up fallen rocks and preparing the east side for further plowing. They will later begin work on the Logan Pass Visitor Center after clearing the Big Drift.
