- ➤ Volunteers and experts held a workshop in late April at Mountain Brook School to plan repairs for the historic building closed because of safety issues. - ➤ Dominic Austin Prichard, 32, received a suspended jail sentence plus a $100 fine after he allegedly tried to shoplift $158.93 from a Hutton Ranch Road store on June 19 at about 7:35 a.m. and reportedly identified a switchblade when employees intercepted him. Daily Inter Lake

- ➤ Glacier Institute restored the Big Creek Outdoor Education Center in the North Fork after a three-and-a-half-year—$1.7 million campaign that replaced outdated floors, updated plumbing and rebuilt foundations. More than 350 local donors helped finance these improvements that have allowed over 50,000 children to enjoy school field trips and summer camps. KPAX

- ➤ A Whitefish officer pulled over a Venezuelan immigrant on April 24 for a broken taillight, and Border Patrol detained him before he was released on April 30. Local law enforcement said little has changed in how they work with immigration officials but will now require a supervisor’s call before contacting Border Patrol—an effort to better define when help is needed. - ➤ Community members are invited to share their opinions on the proposed redesign of downtown streets during the city council meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at 201 First Ave. E—this plan, part of the Main Street Safety Action Plan adopted last summer, aims to reduce crashes by reducing Main Street from four lanes to three and adding new pedestrian safety features, with an option to attend online via Zoom.
