  • Blaine Justin Olds, 51, from Coram pleaded guilty Monday to possession with intent to distribute meth and faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life, a $10 million fine, and at least five years of supervised release—his sentencing is set for September 18.  Daily Inter Lake

  • Flathead High School students in Kalispell demonstrated their heavy machinery skills on May 14—learning to operate front loaders and skid vehicles as part of a Build Montana Initiative program. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Greg Gianforte signed a law on May 5 that raises fines for introducing aquatic invasive species into Montana waters, increasing first offense fines from $500 to $700, repeat offenses from $750 to $1400, and fines for deliberate violations up to $25,000—this law will support enhanced watercraft check stations and decontamination measures to protect our lakes and rivers.   • Funding concerns have halted the purchase of land near Kalispell Center Mall for a new library branch as county funds are focused on a new detention center—trustees are now uncertain if the Flathead Library Foundation will support the project.
