- ➤ On Tuesday, Glacier Park rangers and Flathead County Search and Rescue looked for Florida man Anthony Pollio (33) who planned a 10-mile hike from Lake McDonald Lodge but did not return. - ➤ On Saturday, May 9, families will gather at the Trumbull Creek Educational Forest for the final day of the Family Forestry Expo, an event themed 'Forests - Landscapes of Many Uses' that offers hands-on forest walks, logging demonstrations, and a free logging camp lunch + educational exhibits. - ➤ St. Matthew’s eighth grader Tristan Robbins advanced to state in the Civics Bee after placing second at the Western Regional Civics Bee in April at Flathead Valley Community College. - ➤ County commissioners voted unanimously last week to drop Sliter Park's five-year lease, leaving its future uncertain. PacifiCorp may manage the park if no community group steps in (lease expires July 31). Daily Inter Lake
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ ALERT is fundraising for a new Bell 429 helicopter, having set aside $3.5 million and seeking $2 million to replace one Bell 407 so it can better treat patients during flight (with more room for crew and relatives). The effort was introduced at the ALERT Banquet in late April. Daily Inter Lake

- ➤ Columbia Falls developer Mick Ruis’s Teakettle Heights project on former Aluminum Co. lands will be reviewed today at 6 p.m. by the Planning Commission near Aluminum Drive, and if approved, the project will annex 78.05 acres for 421 residential units (including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments).
