- ➤ Jay Hagen became the new Kalispell Fire Chief today as he replaces retired Chief Dan Pearce. He brings decades of firefighting experience from Seattle and Bellevue and will lead efforts to use a public safety levy to improve staff and equipment. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Kalispell City Council will schedule a public hearing on the Main Street reconstruction project, which aims to reduce the road to two lanes and add pedestrian safety features — the hearing is set for May 19 at 7 p.m. in City Hall. They will also vote on hiring a contractor for a sidewalk on Four Mile Drive, consider fee increases for youth programs, and address state Department of Transportation plans for a new multi-use building and a subdivision extension.
