Good morning, Kalispell.

Kalispell man Cody H.

Carr, 30, was found guilty on seven counts for poaching crimes in November 2023 when he illegally killed three whitetail deer on the North Fork of the Flathead in Hunting District 110 — his sentencing hearing is pending.

Yesterday, in a Bigfork homicide trial, Jackson was acquitted of killing his mother but convicted of murdering her boyfriend.

Blackfeet tribal members sued the federal government over Canada tariffs—this legal action comes as a wet March increased the Northwest Montana snowpack so far.

Flathead County commissioners approved an encroachment permit that will let the Forest Service install a gate on the southwest side of Blankenship Bridge during high water in the spring—preventing people from getting stuck in the gravel area popular with campers.

The gate is set for installation in the next couple of weeks as part of a broader plan to manage camping near the river.

On Friday, the Montana Senate passed a bill that bars schools from disciplining students or staff who refuse to use others’ preferred names or pronouns— the measure now awaits Gov. Gianforte's signature or veto.
