ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Glacier National Park announced Wednesday that Camas Road + Quarter Circle Bridge Road are open for the season with virtually no snow at lower elevations, and Two Medicine Road has also opened for vehicles to Running Eagle Falls.  Daily Inter Lake
  • The Flathead Land Trust has partnered with an anonymous local landowner to permanently protect 60 acres of wildlife habitat near the foothills of Jewel Basin. The conservation easement—bordered by state land—prevents large-scale development and links the area to the Flathead National Forest.  KPAX
  • International Dark Sky Week (April 13–20) will encourage Kalispell residents to reduce light pollution by using timers and shielded outdoor lights. Organizers say the event will help save energy and preserve natural darkness for wildlife and better sleep.  Montana Senior News
