- ➤ Business owners in Downtown Kalispell Forward outlined plans to improve parking, infrastructure and culture at a Chamber luncheon on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, to strengthen downtown. The coalition, under the Chamber with six partners including the Kalispell Business Improvement District + others, will launch events to boost local commerce. Flathead Beacon
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Jenny Fee, a Michigan educator with over 30 years of experience, was unanimously chosen by the board to negotiate a contract for superintendent. Pending ratification, she will assume the role on July 1 — after Dave Means retires. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Eight local teachers were inducted into the inaugural Montana Digital Academy Teacher Hall of Fame — the class honors educators who have guided digital learning since 2009, including teachers from Columbia Falls, Glacier, Flathead and Kalispell schools. Daily Inter Lake

- ➤ A Flathead County judge halted construction of a 159-foot dock in Lakeside after ruling that a minor variance approval violated the state Lakeshore Protection Act. The Planning & Zoning Department issued a stop-work order to pause activity indefinitely as legal challenges continue. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Motorists can expect up to 15-minute delays when construction on West Reserve Drive resumes later this month from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Hutton Ranch Road and Whitefish Stage Road as the road is widened and upgraded until November. Daily Inter Lake
