- ➤ Sarah Harding purchased Community Thrift store in the historic Scandinavian church on Fifth Avenue West in Kalispell and is raising funds to repair and restore the building—using personal contributions, community donations, and a state grant application to address issues like a leaking roof and gutters. - ➤ Flathead Lake State Park’s volunteer stewardship program is recruiting new members to help with trail maintenance, clean-ups, and conservation efforts throughout the year—volunteers who meet requirements will gain priority registration for park events and attend a special appreciation day on Wild Horse Island. - ➤ Norman Hagen, an 83-year-old man with early onset dementia, was reported missing after he was last seen dining with family at a Bigfork restaurant on March 15 when his air tag pinged at 8:45 p.m.—family said he was driving a 2008 Silver Saturn Aura and had mentioned heading toward Missoula. - ➤ Glacier High senior Wyatt Jensen will attend West Point after graduating this spring as celebrated last week by U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke, who recommended him for his strong academics and sports skills (his father served over 30 years in the Green Berets). - ➤ Local artists Darrell and Lael Gray partnered with Flathead Land Trust to protect their 20-acre forested property at the base of the Swan Mountains east of Bigfork. - ➤ The Senate Ethics Committee closed its three-day hearing on March 17th regarding former Senate president Jason Ellsworth’s contract dealings with business associate Bryce Eggleston after arguments that he split a $170,100 contract to avoid bidding laws—Ellsworth’s attorney maintained he did not violate disclosure rules. The committee will now prepare its findings, which could lead to censure or expulsion. Flathead Beacon
