- ➤ The Montana House passed two bills on its final day of session to raise the evidence needed to file asbestos tort claims against BNSF Railway. The change will affect hundreds of claims, including those from Libby residents who suffered from asbestos exposure. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Montana lawmakers reached the session’s halfway point known as transmittal as they advanced 698 bills—Flathead Valley representatives introduced measures on issues from tougher drunk driving penalties in House Bill 267 to changes in housing, education and healthcare, with sessions resuming soon. - ➤ Kalispell City Hall held its first open house at Bias Brewery Wednesday to gather views for a new land use plan that will help guide housing growth as required by a state law—city planners displayed 14 zoning rules on poster boards with stickers and will host more drop-in sessions on Thursday.
