- ➤ The Kalispell Downtown Association is dissolving to let Downtown Kalispell Forward oversee downtown revitalization, following Tuesday's announcement by the Chamber. Its assets will move to the Chamber Foundation over the next few months to build stronger partnerships & support local business engagement. Flathead Beacon

- ➤ Two short documentaries made on the Flathead Reservation are among eight films nominated for the Big Sky Award at the 2026 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival; one film spotlights a water network that supported a major water rights settlement & the other follows the rise of skateparks. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cayuse Prairie School in Kalispell is asking voters to approve a $300,000 levy in May to hire new staff, raise salaries, and support programs such as the horticulture project. Ballots will be mailed April 17 and are due by 8:00 p.m. May 5. Daily Inter Lake
- ➤ Flathead Valley Community College President Jane Karas will officially retire at the end of 2026 after 25 years in service, and a nationwide search for her successor will begin soon. Her tenure saw the campus grow from 40 to more than 200 acres and expanded classroom offerings. KPAX
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks plan to improve the Shady Lane Fishing Access Site with updates that may include pond dredging, repairing the deteriorated pier + replacing the asphalt path near Old Steel Bridge in Evergreen.
