- ➤ Jane Karas, long-serving president of Flathead Valley Community College, announced her retirement effective Dec. 31 after 25 years at the helm. The board will soon launch a national search+ she will continue supporting students and community needs until her departure. Flathead Beacon

- ➤ Flathead Valley Community College's Continuing Education Center offers one-hour Motivational Monday talks at the Wachholz Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is required and sessions cost $35 — upcoming topics include communicating across generations on March 2 and building resiliency on March 23. - ➤ The Flathead Avalanche Center issued a special avalanche warning Tuesday for slopes in the Whitefish, Swan, and Flathead mountain ranges + Glacier National Park after a recent snowstorm increased avalanche risks.
