- ➤ Economists from the University of Montana’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research presented on Feb. 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn that in-migration is driving steady growth in Flathead County despite statewide population growth slowing to 0.6%, with construction spiking and job and wage gains noted. - ➤ Officials will close access to Two Medicine at Glacier National Park in spring and fall for construction repairing roads, water systems and utilities. - ➤ Researchers at Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks analyzed hair samples to uncover that Midwestern translocated fishers have remained in the Cabinet Mountains (possibly due to barriers like I-90) while Idaho officials plan to begin translocating up to 15 fishers per year to improve connectivity in nearby populations.
