- ➤ The Salvation Army in Kalispell launches a Mobile Hope Market to offer a pop-up food pantry letting community members choose their own groceries (the first stop is at Hungry Horse’s Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.). The program will expand across Flathead Valley over time. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Flathead Electric Coop has awarded over $21,000 to five local safety projects through its Round-Up for Safety initiative. The funding (which costs members about $6 a year when they round up their electric bills) will support trauma kits, youth search and rescue training, cameras, radios, and smoke alarms. - ➤ Mountain Brook School’s nomination for the National Register was approved by the Montana State Historic Preservation Review Board on Jan. 23 and will be sent for final review; the 1922 schoolhouse (east of Creston, used as a community hub) could join 158 Flathead County sites within 45 days.
