- ➤ The Whitefish School District collected community feedback on its superintendent search on Wednesday; consultant Shar Johns gathered input at a meeting (held last week) and applications will be accepted through Jan. 29. The board will review candidates in February (with interviews planned for early March). Flathead Beacon
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jim Foster retired at the end of last year after nearly 23 years at Glacier National Park, where he led remodeling of the Many Glacier Hotel + improvements on Going-to-the-Sun Road and water systems. He also helped launch a School to Park program with students building cabins. Daily Inter Lake
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Native American leaders on the Flathead Reservation report inadequate maternal care remains a concern, with 2024 data showing high pregnancy-related mortality rates. Tribal groups are partnering with state committees & federal programs to improve culturally responsive tracking and care. Flathead Beacon
- ➤ Primary care providers at Logan Health unionized Thursday after a vote of 49 to 28 among 101 eligible voters. The result is subject to review by the National Labor Relations Board and hospital officials said they will begin good-faith negotiations. Daily Inter Lake
